Telegram alerts for your keepme.green desk

keepme.green can talk to one Telegram chat on your account. The bot is for people who close the laptop and still want to know if a desk started, stopped, needs sign-in, or if Microsoft Teams showed new activity.

It is also for the case Teams on a phone cannot cover: two accounts on one device, notifications that only fire for the account you last opened. The cloud desk stays on the other tenant. Telegram pings when that tab looks busy.

Linking is optional. Presence still runs from the hours you set, with or without Telegram.

How to link

  1. Create an account or sign in.
  2. Open Telegram in the workspace nav (not this public page).
  3. The page shows a 6-digit code that lasts 15 minutes, plus a button that opens the bot with the code filled in.
  4. Tap Start in Telegram. If the code is not filled in, send it as a message.
  5. The page flips to Linked. One chat per account.

Generate a new code if the old one expired. Unlink from the same page, or send /unlink in the chat.

What the bot sends

  • Desk state. Starting, live, stopped, or sign-in needed — when the state actually changes.
  • Teams activity. When the Teams tab title shows unread activity, or the page raises a browser notification. The bot says there is new activity. It never sends the message text. That stays in Teams.
  • Left Teams. If a Teams desk stays off Microsoft Teams hosts for more than five minutes, the bot says so. Sign-in hosts still count as on Teams.

Alerts only fire while a session is running. A desk that is stopped does not watch Teams.

Commands

  • /status — every desk and its state
  • /run — start a desk
  • /stop — stop a desk
  • /peek — live JPEG of the open tab
  • /unlink — detach this chat
  • /help — the same list

If you have more than one desk, add the number: /peek 2. Start, Stop, and Peek also sit on buttons under the last alert.

Peek needs a live session. Same live frame as Peek on the desk. Do not hammer it; the bot rate-limits screenshots.

What it does not do

  • It does not forward Teams, Slack, or email bodies.
  • It does not hold presence by itself. Hours and a signed-in desk still do that work. See how keepme.green works.
  • It does not run 24/7 alerts when the desk is off.
  • It is not a second login. You still sign into Teams (or Slack, Zoom, Meet, Messenger) in the remote window.

Privacy

Linking stores the Telegram chat id, username, and the time you linked. Unlink clears those fields. We do not read your Telegram contact list. Message text from Teams is not copied into Telegram.
